SWAP Program 2018

SWAP Program – Summer 2018

April 13, 2018

I am pleased to announce that SWAP applications are being accepted for summer 2018 work.  SWAP stands for Student Worker Assistance Program and allows students to pay for their athletic fees by working various maintenance and custodial jobs throughout the district, during the summer months.  SWAP is a voluntary program, offered to Dixon Public School students in grades 9-12.

Current sport fees for DHS are $125 for the first sport, $75 for the second sport and an additional $75 for the third sport. There is a family cap of $300, which includes fees for DHS and RMS family member athletes living in the same household.  Students are required to work 16 hours for one sport, 25 hours for two sports, 34 hours for three sports or 37.5 hours for the family cap.  Students are also able to work for RMS siblings, participating in sporting events

Applications are now available online at www.dps170.org  and are located at DHS Athletic Office, Main Office or Counseling Office. This information was mailed directly to the parents of all incoming freshmen on 04/13/18 and is also in the Main Office at Reagan Middle School.

Applications are due by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018

Applications received after this date, will be placed on a waiting list and cannot be guaranteed work.

DHS students are able to return their applications to the Athletic Office, Main Office or Counseling Office.  Reagan Middle Students can return applications to the RMS Main Office or to Mrs. Sward at Reagan Middle School

New participants and a parent are expected to attend one of two meetings;

 April 24th or April 25th at 5:30pm in the DHS Auditorium.

Returning participants are required to attend one of two meetings:

 April 24th or April 25th at 6:30 pm in the DHS Auditorium

You only need to attend one of the meetings.  If you are unable to attend a meeting, your child will not be allowed to participate in the program this year.  Detailed program information will be given out during this meeting

Once the application is completed, signed, and turned in, students will be scheduled for work, in the order applications were received.  Calls to schedule SWAP work will begin in early May and continue throughout the summer.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 815-285-8858.

We look forward to working with students interested in giving back to their school, community and family, with this valuable program.
