"WIN" Time

  Dear Parents-                                                                                     9/25/19

I wanted to let you know that you may hear your child comment on working with a new teacher next week during “WIN” time.  WIN time is a new name for what we’ve called “Intervention” time in the past.  It stands for “Whatever I Need.”  It is intended to be a time where students can receive additional instruction (either extra help or enrichment) based on their needs.  Students will be grouped to receive the individualized instruction that they need whether they need extra support or an extra challenge.

Teachers have been working hard to review students’ learning data and group them according to their unique needs as they get to know their new students.  Starting this coming Monday, all students will participate in WIN time for 40 minutes daily.  This may include working with a different classroom teacher, one of our intervention teachers (Title 1 or Special Education), or with their same teacher in their classroom.  Some of our students will also participate in online instruction according to their unique needs through our “Let’s Go Learn” online learning system.

If you have questions about the plan for your child, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.  I would also be happy to speak with you to share what we are doing to help your individual child.  We are hopeful that the changes our teachers are working to implement will result in even higher level of achievement for all our students!  We appreciate all your support!

Sincerely,
