April is Neurodiversity Celebration Month, and Washington School celebrated by learning about neurodiversity and how to be Autism Advocates! With special presentations by Occupational Therapist, Corrie Ackman, and Special Educators, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Dewitt, our students learned how to advocate, include, and celebrate ALL BRAINS! 🧠 You may even find our students sporting a rainbow infinity sign keychain to celebrate their autistic friends!
With the help of local business, Kaleel’s, our “All Brains are Beautiful” T-shirt fundraiser allowed us to purchase a sensory wall for all students to enjoy, and we are so grateful for the participation of our Washington families and staff!
We hope you join us in spreading the word about inclusion, acceptance and advocacy! 🧠🌈

Today we had extra help at Washington School- Miss Book, our kid principal for the day! She read to the Pre-K classes, visited classrooms, delivered goodies to teachers, and helped with our announcements. Miss Book even answered a radio call from Mr. Roger! Thanks for your help!
