Government Day was today for 8th Grade. Thank you to Dixon City Councilman Bishop and Dixon City Manager Langloss for spending the day with our students!

More fun continuing after the scarecrow festival on Saturday, there will be showings of the original Wizard of Oz at 3pm and Poltergeist at 7pm! Two bands will be playing: Etched in Embers and Albourn. More information is attached.

Saturday is quickly being filled with fun activities for our area and DPS students. After the scarecrow festival and the DHS class officer fundraiser at Oliver's from 11-2, the DHS Theatre has you covered for dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 5-7:30. We will have Oliver's pork chop sandwich or hamburger served with coleslaw, chips, dessert, and drink/iced tea or lemonade. The meals are $12 and delivery and carry out are available. We hope to see you there.

We would like to show our appreciation to Illinois Central Bus Company for transporting our students to/from school and also our athletes to/from their sporting events safely and on time.

RMS Builder's Club will be selling Ghost Pops for 25 cents each during all lunch periods October 23rd-27th. All proceeds will be donated to the United Way of Lee County!!!

Dixon Public Schools is having their Regular Board Meeting on Wed., Oct. 18, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the District Office, 1335 Franklin Grove Road.
The meeting will be recorded and posted on the District’s YouTube channel and website. Those wishing to submit public comment need to email them to the Board President, Linda Wegner and to the Superintendent, Margo Empen, by Noon on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023. Public Comment received after this time may not be guaranteed to be read aloud at this meeting.
Kona Ice is coming to RMS on Friday, October 27th!!! Students will be able to purchase for $5 each during their lunch hour. 20% of proceeds will go to RMS PBIS Celebrations!

Congratulations to Katie Drew for winning SBLive Athlete of the Week! Our community put their rally caps on and locked in 35,804 votes before the poll ended! She was competing against 30 of the best performing athletes of the previous week throughout the entire state of Illinois! She also took home 3rd place at the IHSA Girls' 1A State Finals this past weekend! What a great way to end her golfing career here at DHS! #GoPurple #BePurple
