Mission Statement

"To actively involve citizens, businesses and alumni in enhancing the Dixon Public Schools by encouraging participation of both ideas and tax-deductible contributions to the Foundation for the purpose of providing the quality extras that are not possible through normal taxation."

The Foundation

The Dixon Public School District Foundation has been established to provide interested citizens the opportunity to enhance educational programs for students by making tax-deductible contributions to Dixon Public Schools.

The Foundation is led by a seven-member voluntary Board of Directors. Although the Foundation works in cooperation with the Dixon Public School Board of Education, it is a separate body governed by its own bylaws. The Foundation encourages the continuing partnership of education, business and community. The foundation was not established to fund the basic education of our students. Its intent is to provide the extras that the school district has not been able to provide due to its financial constraints, and to enrich the basic education of our students by offering special opportunities not provided by the district.

How It Works

The Foundation, through the help of alumni, businesses, parents and friends, can play a significant role in continuing the tradition of excellence that has been a part of the Dixon Public Schools. Donations to the Foundation are an investment in the workers and leaders of tomorrow. An excellent education will provide the background for the challenges that they face.

The Foundation is tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your tax-deductible gift can be part of our endowment or can establish a scholarship for DHS graduates.

Facts

The community has been generous and supportive of the Dixon Public Schools. The Foundation depends entirely on that support for its success.

100% of the endowment interest goes to provide equipment, facilities and programs for students. There are no administrative costs other than annual tax filing and insurance expenses. All members of the Board of Directors are volunteers giving their time and energy to the success of the Foundation.

Methods of maxing tax-deductible donations to the Foundation vary. Substantial donations from individuals, family memorials and businesses are most welcome. Contributions of this nature increase the ability of the endowment to generate revenue annually.

The Public and local businesses are encouraged to think of the Dixon Public School District Foundation each year when they plan their annual civic contributions. Participation by school alumni at the time of their class reunions is also greatly appreciated. Please join us in our Mission!!

The Foundation plays a crucial role in helping to provide a competitive edge for students leaving the Dixon Public Schools pursuit of their own dreams.

Our endowment ensures that your gift becomes a permanent part of our children's educational future.

Won't you join us? Give the gift that keeps on giving. Make our children's education a little richer. Remember, today's students are the future of our community, state and country.
