Meet Voices United, a new choir initiative that brings together students from our Life Skills room and members of our curricular choirs!
This unique ensemble was created to provide an inclusive and enriching experience, helping students connect, grow, and, most importantly, share the joy of music! Beyond getting to know each other, our talented choir members have been hard at work learning to play various instruments and singing together. So far, they’ve been jamming to popular songs like Country Roads, Timber, Sweet Child O' Mine, Beat It, and of course, some Disney tunes!
Want to catch their debut performance? Come to the choir concert on May 2nd! It is in the DHS auditorium at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there!
We also want to give a shout out to the student who helped make this collaboration possible. While the two teachers involved in this ensemble are our choir teacher (Ms. Rogers) and our life skills teacher (Mrs. Gordon), Voices United would not be possible without our student leader, senior Grace Shoemaker Fenwick, who is both a choir member and helps in the life skills room during the day! She envisioned this partnership, and was instrumental in helping make it happen! We are very proud of Grace!
