Do you live in the Dixon Public School District? Do you know of an employee of DPS #170, with at least three years' experience, who goes above and beyond for our students, staff, and community? If you answered yes to both of these questions, please click on the link below to fill out an Employee of the Year nomination form. The District will pick certified (teachers and administrators) and non-certified employees (paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodians, nurses, maintenance, and technology) of the year which will be honored at our May 17, 2023, Board Meeting.
Employee of the Year nomination forms can be delivered or emailed to the District Office or to any school's main office by Friday, April 14, 2023.

On Friday, March 3rd, choirs from three Dixon Public Schools will participate in the second annual DPS Choir fest. This collaboration brings students from fifth grade to seniors in high school together through their passion for singing. Students will spend the day playing games, socializing, meeting musicians from the other schools, and learning new music. We invite all friends, family, and community members to attend our evening concert at 6:30pm in the DHS auditorium where each choir will perform. We will end the concert with a combined piece sung by all 140 student musicians!

Dixon Public Schools is having a Special Board Meeting on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. This special meeting is to discuss a student discipline case in Executive Session. An action item will be voted on after Executive Session.
The meeting will be recorded and placed on our website the next day. Those wishing to submit public comment need to email them to the Board President and the Superintendent by Noon on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Public Comment received after this time, may not be guaranteed to be read aloud at this meeting.
This Friday, February 24th is our community-wide screening at Washington School from 8am-2pm. If you have a child from birth through age 4 and want to make sure he or she is meeting the developmental milestones, bring them for a free screening with teachers, speech pathologists, PT/OT, and our social worker. Appointments can be scheduled by calling Washington School at 815-934-9660.
Dixon Public Schools has been notified that duplicate notices are going out about school being cancelled today. We are removing those now. We are planning on being in session tomorrow.
Good evening. Dixon Public Schools calling to inform you that school will been canceled for tomorrow, Thursday, February 16, 2023. This decision is based on the information provided to districts from the National Weather Service. Tomorrow will be a snow day that will be made up at the end of the year. I thought it was important to make this decision tonight so parents can plan accordingly for their students tomorrow. Thank you and please be safe tomorrow.
