Traffic Reminder
Before and after school Morgan Street from Sterling Avenue to Assembly should not be utilized due to buses coming and going. When bus stop arms are out traffic is not allowed on Morgan Street. On Sterling Avenue do not park in the student drop off area with signs for drop off only. You must stay in your vehicle if in the reserved drop off area. Additional parking may be found on McKenney Street or neighboring side streets. #GoPurple

We would like to thank Dixon Police Department for traffic assistance this morning on Morgan Street. There were a number of incidents yesterday with speeding and ignoring bus stop arms. Your extra assistance ensured that our students were able arrive at school safely. #GoPurple #dpdrocks

Reminder:
Jefferson building tours are tomorrow, Wednesday, August 11 at 9:00am, 12:00pm, or 5:00pm. Masks are required for all. Please come walk through the building with your child and get familiar with Jefferson Elementary.
Jefferson Elementary Back to School night is Monday, August 16 from 5:00-6:00pm. Students may bring supplies that night rather than that morning. We hope to see you all at Jefferson!

Dixon Public Schools is having their Regular Board Meeting on Wed., Aug. 11th at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Wiltz Auditorium at Dixon High School.
The District is returning to an in-person meeting format and will also live stream the meeting. Following the Governor's Statewide mask requirement for schools, all visitors will need to be masked to attend the Board meeting. Those wishing to submit public comment need to email them to the Board President, Linda Wegner and to the Superintendent, Margo Empen, by Noon on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Public Comment received after this time may not be guaranteed to be read aloud at this meeting.

The Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 will be held in the Wiltz Auditorium at DHS beginning at 6 p.m. The board packet will be posted on our website on Monday afternoon. Masks are required for those attending onsite. The meeting will also be streamed via our District Facebook page.

The Board of Education will be having a board retreat on Monday, August 9th at 9:00 a.m. The Agenda is on our website under Board of Education.

Dixon Administrators and Resource Officers attended a School Safety and Crisis training provided by the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Thank you to our Dixon Fire Department for organizing this training!

Reminder to register your students. Please log into your Parent portal account to complete the forms.
District Office will be open Wednesday, July 28th from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to assist with registration or to drop off any paperwork.
Students must be registered by August 5th in order to be assigned to a class list. Students registered after August 5th may not be assigned a teacher until the first day of school.
