In an effort to make the Free Summer Meals program more accessible, the District will be adding another location for meal service. Starting Monday, June 10th, children 18 and under will now be able to access free meals at Dixon High School. Please remember the District is no longer allowed to handout meals to go. All meals must be served and eaten onsite. Multiple days cannot be picked up and the children for whom the meals are intended must be present and must consume the meal in the cafeteria. These changes are a federal and state requirement, outside of the control of the District. See the attached flyer for details.

As the final activity of the year, Mrs. Beck's English 10 Honors classes listened to artist and poet Dr. Gooden read selections of poetry from her book Night Forms. She also discussed what it was like growing up in Birmingham, Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement. Additionally, Honors students did an awesome job reading an original poem with Dr. Gooden that they wrote using one of her poems as a model. After the students left class, Dr. Gooden took time to autograph her second poetry book for them.
